Key Stage 3
Year Eight
​
In year 8, pupils are assigned to one of four classes, without reference to ability. Pupils meet with their Form Teacher each morning and for weekly lessons in Personal Development. They remain with their Form group for most lessons but are placed in smaller groupings for practical subjects, such as Home Economics, Art & Design and Technology & Design. There is no streaming or banding.

The programme of subjects offered continues as laid out in Year 8 guildelines. However, on entry into Year 9 pupils are given the opportunity to study a second foreign language [either German or Spanish].
